Jeremy DeWayne England
Funeral services for Jeremy England, 18, were held Wednesday, Dec. 28 at the Renfro Memorial Chapel at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, Jacksonville with the Rev. G.C. Folmar officiating.
Burial was in McDonald Cemetery, New Summerfield.
Mr. England passed away Sunday, Dec. 25.
He was born June 7, 1987 in Palestine and had lived in the Frankston area for the past five years.
Survivors include fiance, Tiffany Williams, Brownsboro; mother and step-father, Sandra and Roger Perry, Frankston; father, Terry England, Tyler; grandmother, Wanda Tipton, Frankston; step-grandparents, Gerald and Laura Brown, Brownsboro; great-grandmother, Louise Brown, Frankston; sisters, Janette England and Jeniffer England, both of Nacogdoches and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers were Chris Fisher, Nukya Brown, Bodi Arthur, Brian Elmore, Tony Perry and Cameron Brown.
Honorary pallbearers were Heather Oas, Stephanie Fisher and Brian Fisher.
Ruby Green
Graveside services for Ruby Green, 70, of Tyler were held Wednesday, Dec. 28 at the Liberty Hill Cemetery with Rev. Nolan Sluder officiating, under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.
She passed away Monday, Dec. 26.
Mrs. Green was born Aug. 20, 1935 in Rockwall. She was an employee of Walgreen’s in Tyler and a member of Assembly of God.
She is survived by husband, David Green, Tyler; daughters, Cathy Frazier and Denise Sperry, both of the Dallas area; six granddaughters and seventeen great-grandchildren, all of the Dallas area.
Bobby Ray Stearns
Graveside services for Bobby Stearns, 49, of Bullard, formerly of Anchorage, AK were held Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Corine Cemetery in Jacksonville with Mr. Davy Carter officiating under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.
Mr. Stearns passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28.
He was born August 7, 1956 in Rochester, NY. He was a commercial refrigeration mechanic and had served in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and traveling. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Rose Stearns, Bullard; mother, Ima Kidwell, Murchison; step-mother, Virginia Stearns, Camino, CA; sister, Carol Askew, Frankston; brother-in-law, Clyde Jones, Frankston; uncle, Robert Stearns, Camino, CA; nephew, Bobby Askew, Jacksonville; cousin, Donna Nash and children, of Mexia and best friend, Bernie Ree, Anchorage, AK.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mary Ann Dale
Mary Ann Dale, 79, of Frankston passed away Sunday, Jan. 8. Arrangements were under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.
She was born May 12, 1926 in Jamestown, ND. She had worked as a clerk for the California Motor Vehicle Dept. Her family remembers her as a “loving wife and mother” who loved camping, traveling, gardening and loving care of her family and “will be missed dearly.”
Mrs. Dale was a Catholic.
Survivors include her husband, Leslie B. Dale, Frankton; sons, Steven Vermillion of Montana, John Dale and Robert Dale, both of Arizona; daughters, Janice Vermillion of Indiana, Robin Woods of Arizona, Karen Willard of Kansas, Terry Re, Roberta Glenn and Colleen Plante, all of California; brother, Theodore Verlinden of Arizona; sisters, Joanne Hansen and Irene Miller, both of California; three grandchildren, Jacob Vermillion of Montana, James Allen, Jr. of Colorado and Elaina Barrack-Glenn of California; and nephew, Dwayne Dale of Texas.
Mae Gilliland
Graveside services for Mae Dickerson Gilliland, 91, of Poynor, were held Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Poynor Cemetery with Bro. Martin McRae officiating. Services were under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.
Mrs. Gilliland passed away Thursday, Jan. 12.
She was born March 13, 1914 in Athens. She was a self employed caregiver and a Baptist.
Mrs. Gilliland was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Gilliland in 1983; brothers, Farris Dickerson, Grover L. Dickerson and J.W. Dickerson; and sisters, Jessie Bristow, Rhoda Weesner, Cora Belle Kitchens, Bessie Allen, Louise Fears, Lucy Jo Coats and Mary Lee Perry.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Mary Jane Butler
Funeral services for Mary Jane Butler, 60, of Poynor, were held Sunday, Jan. 22 at the First Baptist Church, Poynor with Rev. Jeff Godwin and Rev. Martin McCrae officiating. Services were under direction of Thompson Funeral Home, Frankston.
Burial was held at the Poynor Cemetery.
Miss Butler passed away Thursday, Jan. 19.
She was born July 29, 1945 in Jacksonville. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Poynor.
Miss Butler was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Butler.
Survivors include her father, Milton Butler, of Poynor; sister and brother-in-law, Linda Sue and Gary Giles, of Hurst; nephews and spouses, Kent Giles, of Dallas, Brent and Dawn Giles and Lance and Courtney Giles, all of Hurst; and great nephews, Ben Giles, Matthew Giles and Nash Giles, all of Hurst.
Pallbearers were Brent Hoffman, Robert Magee, Bobby Holcomb, John Pagitt, Bill Westbrook and Keith Bristow.
Vivian I. Harmon
Funeral services for Vivian I. Harmon, 82, of Bartlett, Tennessee, were held Sunday, Jan. 22 at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, Missouri.
Burial was in High Creek Cemetery, Watson, Missouri.
Mrs. Harmon passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17.
She was born March 18, 1923 in Jal, New Mexico to James Franklin and Mary Vernum (Waller) Baker. She graduated from Dickens High School, Dickens, Texas.
On Aug. 14, 1944, she married Clifford W. “Chic” Harmon. They lived in the Watson, Missouri area, while Chic was stationed in Omaha. Because of Chic’s military career, they lived in numerous places throughout the United States. After Chic’s retirement, they moved to Berryville, Texas. Following his death in the early 1980’s, Mrs. Harmon moved to Bartlett, Tennessee, where she lived until her death.
According to her family, she was “a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to dance” and was a member of the Greater Memphis Square and Round Dance Association. She was also a member of the Bartlett United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Harmon was preceded in death by her husband, parents and four brothers.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly Sue and Tom Martin, of University Place, Washington, Nadeen and Lewis Crawford, of Moscow, Tennessee, and Elaine Bradford, of Thornton, Colorado; sons and daughters-in-law, Clifford B. Harmon, of Houston, Tom C. and Barbara Harmon, of Germantown, Tennessee, and Dick L. and Cindy Harmon, of Hoover, Alabama; seven grandchildren; sister, Louise Perryman, and sister-in-law, Margaret Baker, both of Texas.
James Parker
Funeral services for James Parker, 65, of Frankston and Canton, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 at Eubank Chapel, Canton. Arrangements are under direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton.
Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery, Martins Mill.
Mr. Parker passed away Monday, Jan. 23.
He was born June 7, 1940 in Lee Co., Arkansas to Ernest and Victoria Wilson Parker.
Mr. Parker was a resident of Irving for 25 years where he worked as a drywall contractor. He moved to East Texas in the mid 80’s where he was co-founder of Tina’s Hair Affaire and Dollar stores. In the mid 90’s, Mr. Parker founded Suzette’s Cabin Candles located in Frankston, which later moved to Canton and is still in operation. As a founder of Suzette’s Candles, he traveled across the nation selling and promoting his product. According to his family, “his kindness and warm smile won him many friends during his travels; he loved to fish, hunt, garden and especially spendtime with his family.”
Mr. Parker was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bobby Climer.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Tina Parker; daughter and son-in-law, Suzette and Keith Stringer; grandsons, Parker and Dalton Stringer; brother, Edward Parker, of Palestine, Arkansas; sisters, Reba Flowers, of Memphis, Tennessee, Deliah Tucker, of West Mountain, Arkansas, and Earnestine Williams, of Palestine, Arkansas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Vanessa Climer, of Emory, Jerry and Kathy Climer, of Irving, Herschel and Pat Climer, of Santobia, Mississippi, Wesley and Byrl Climer, of Brenkley, Arkansas, Brenda and Jerry Norvell, of Murchison, Dianna and Oren Odel, of Ostawtamio, Kansas and Bonnie and Rick Joyner, of Mt. Vernon.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Climer, Jerry Climer, Herschel Climer, Wesley Climer, Jerry Norvell and Keith Stringer.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
